Call for Historical Donations: Help Us Bring the Heritage Hub to Life

Do you have a piece of Paisley’s past hidden in your attic, tucked in an old drawer, or stored away in the back of a cupboard?

As we prepare to open our new Heritage Hub, we’re calling on the people of Paisley and beyond to help us furnish it with authentic local history. We’re on the lookout for historical items—large or small—that can help tell the story of our town in vivid, personal detail.

Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to receive some truly special donations. These include a programme from the unveiling of the Paisley Cenotaph on 28th July 1924—an incredibly moving artefact that captures a pivotal moment in our town’s remembrance history.

Another treasured piece is a framed print of the engine “Paisley”, shown arriving at the depot of the Paisley & Renfrew Railway in 1837. Alongside it, we proudly display an original Paisley Burgh Boundary sign, a physical reminder of the town’s civic history and identity.

Now, as we shape a new space to celebrate and explore Paisley’s heritage, we’re inviting the community to take part. Whether you have old photographs, documents, letters, objects, or memorabilia connected to Paisley’s history, your contribution could help create a space that educates, inspires, and honours the people and stories that shaped this place.

Let’s Tell Paisley’s Story—Together

The Heritage Hub will be a space for learning, reflection, and celebration—built by the community, for the community. Every donated item will help us shine a light on the richness of Paisley’s past and preserve it for future generations.

If you’d like to contribute, please message our page or check the comments section for our email address. We’d love to hear from you.

Together, let’s bring Paisley’s story to life.
